These people are just doing what they think is right. Not too often to folks engage in conversation with complete strangers. I'll admit their disposition is a little annoying.
My wife is from Wisconsin, and we live in Tennessee. Now in Wisconsin tattoos are the norm. I know a preacher in Wi. who does tattoos on the side to make extra money.
Now my wife and I love God and I teach Sunday school, and we are youth leaders in our church. But she is from up north and she has a few tatoos and she works in a nice tattoo parlor here; so immediate reaction of people in the Bible belt is what you'd call reactionary.
Different culture, different values; it's what your parents taught you. I try and understand where they're coming from, they are usually trying to do what they feel is right in thier minds. But Intrudn is right, there is little tolerance on anything that looks, different, smells different, or rides different. You can never tell what's on the inside, we all make this mistake in one way or another.
